Question crooked bed? help!

wtf, I just noticed the gap between the cab and the bed is different on the 2 sides. The driver side has a pretty good size gap, the passenger side very little. I know I read about this somewhere where the bed actually beat the hell outa some guys cab while he drove. I definitly dont want this to happen. To make things worse I am worried about my ARE cover rubbing the hell outa the paint on my bed sides. I would think with the whole bed shifted to the passenger side then the cover should rub. right?

Many have had the crooked bed syndrome. I think it's a matter of loosening up the bolts and straightening it out. Maybe the dealer can do it for you.

BTW, the ARE covers will rub the paint on the sides of the truck if the adjusters are set too low. That's why I got good at the air brush stuff....

But, that's just what I think...

I'll have to try to back out the bolts a bit, better now before it's all carpeted. (with air tools?) I think the stoppers for my lid are ok , I swing my back end around every now and again and sometimes but no damage yet. I hear it move a bit if I go over a speed bump also. Im just amazed with the difference between the gaps themselves. I originally thought my cover was crooked because I could see part of the bed rail on the driver side but not on the other side. Thanks as usual for the info rich.

ps. guess who's left corner piece for the rollpan doesnt fit worth a crap.
Guess I'll get ol shakey dave on the phone tomarrow. He had described what happend to me prior to me buyuing it. He said he had fixed the problem, but I guess not. Im thinkin Im gonna make him put them on and show me proof the replacements fit. I can tell from the one side that did fit they will be nice when this is all over with. Just glad I didnt paint them first like a moron.

Be careful, it may be the cab that is katywhompus on the frame and not the bed. If you loosen the bed and don't have enough adjustment, you'll have to loosen in cab and align them both.

I'd probably go ask a good collision shop first...

I'm pretty fortunate I guess? After reading about this the other day I went out and checked. And sure enough my drivers side is about 1.75" spaced to the cab and the pass side is about 1.25". Ya its not even but you can't tell unless it brought to attention and measured.

So Mine will stay as-is since it's my daily driver.

WOT

Right after purchase, mine had to go back right away for the bed adjustment. The salesman gladly made me an appt. for the next week.
Someone said it right--just a few bolts (6?) and they slid the bed around a little. (Was supposed to then go to the service dept. for front end alignment--also by appt. --but they "didn't get to it".)

Of course the guy writing up the work order left me some ink pen marks on the seat (no charge!). So, it went back again.......
