Works Power MP112 Blower Kit
As many may know, PSP has been testing a new replacement blower kit for the Lightning over the past few months. This new blower has helped us become the first Gen 2 Lightning to break the 10 second barrier.
This new blower kit is manufactured by Works Power, a company headed by ex-Magnuson Technical Director Chris Weisberg. I've known Chris for a few years now, and his knowledge of forced induction is extremely impressive. He has helped me many times in the past with issues concerning the Lightning and it's intercooled Eaton blower system.
Works Power engineered this kit from the ground up, with a completely new rear inlet intake. Unlike the stock Lightning inlet, the Works intake is the full bore of the throttle body area all the way into the blower. The rear inlet design also promotes smoother airflow to the rotors, where the Lightnings stock top inlet tends to paddle the air at high revs and causes it to overheat itself.
At the heart of the kit is the MP112 blower. The MP112 is a true rear inlet 112 cubic inch performance blower. It has a reshaped outlet port for more aggressive blower timing, and smaller degas ports in the case for less boost bleed off. The MP112 is much more effiecient at higher rpms, and does not generate as much heat under higher boost levels.
It's been a lengthy process to perfect the fit and finish of this new kit, because Works takes pride in producing OEM-quality parts. But now the first batch of blower kits is being produced.
I am very glad that Works Power chose PSP to be thier first Authorized Distributor for thier products. It's been a pleasure dealing with them so far, and I look forward to selling many more of thier products (and there are more coming soon).
I will have final pricing on the kits very soon. If anyone has any specific questions about the Works Power blower kit, you should ask us here or give us a call and we'll be happy to answer all your questions.
