Anyone remove one rear leaf spring?

Over heard someone saying they had removed a leaf on a different make truck to lower it an additonal inch or so. This is kinda what I'm looking for since the 2" shackles didn't go enough for me, and I'm not in a position to purchase hangers at this time.

If anyone has done this, which one cam out, results, tips?? thanks

It was probably done by a GM "enthusiast." They aren't too bright.

If a Ford guy did it, they'd probably remove two leafs - one on each side.

I know someone that did that, one each side. Then broke two driveshafts, then added traction bars, and I think put the springs back.

Yea but then it would be lowered like 2". That may be to much.

HEY I'm a GM well a GN person, I resemble that remark.

Figured most would understand, but for those that don't, yes remove one leaf out of "each" side. Thats what I asking about.

Cool

You could remove the bottom spring. which is sometimes referred to as the load spring to get additional drop. It will also decrease your load and tow capacity however. You can try it and see if you like it or not just be sure you realign the rear axle and get every thing torqued back to specs. You can always put it back if you don't like it.
