I'm jealous!

Congrats on the WRX. The only thing I don't like about them is the interior. It's just so cheap looking and mono colored. They should have put in some brushed aluminum pieces and white gauges. You should spring for the WRC head lights too. Those look damn sweet!

Jason, you asked what options I got. I had to go fish for the window sticker.

Rear Deck Spoiler which lists for $395.00. Rear Differential Protector at $92.00.

Performance package which is $769.00 and includes the Titanium Shift ****, Turbo Gauge and Short Throw Shifter.

Also Popular Equipment Group II which is Auto Dimming Mirror with Compass and Security System Upgrade. Cost is $413.00.

I was really only interested in the Short Throw Shifter and Turbo Gauge options, but for some reason it was kind of hard to find these two options in the same car. One dealer had 12 WRX sedans, but none had both options together. Another dealer had three WRXs, all with both options.

The picture jimimac351 posted looks just like my WRX except his has color coordinated ground effects, and aftermarket wheels and tires from the look of it.

i'm with you man. i just can't bring myself to like anything other than Ford. i raced a new WRX from a dead stop and by the time i was around 100 he was like 4-5 car lengths behind me. he had me for the first 40 feet though then i got one on the highway who i just ran away from. fun to race against...just not to own. hehe

Well, to each their own. Sometimes you change your mind. I did about Ford trucks when I bought my Lightning in '99. I never liked Ford trucks.

If an American automaker made a small, performance oriented, all wheel drive car, I probably would go with that. But, I am not aware of one.

I considered the SVT Focus, which I think is pretty sharp looking car, and a lot cheaper than a WRX, but it did not have AWD. And, I am sure the WRX would run circles around a Focus. Also, I understand the Focus is having a lot of recalls.

One thing about the WRX you have to admire. It is recent three time winner of the world championships in rally racing. As Subaru says in their brochure, the WRX is race proven, not race
inspired.

Still like my Lightning more though.
