Question Nitto NT555 ?

Hey guys,

Has anybody replaced their Goodyear F1's on a gen2 with the Nitto NT555 (not the drag radial version). If so let me know what you think of them. Is the Dry traction as good as the F1's? Wet traction? Handling?

Also do the NT555's have those radial ridges on the sidewalls like the F1's? I really don't like those ridges because the armor all gets caught in them and then slings all over the place once you go driving around.

Thanx

I am currently running the 555s once my f1s went bad, world of difference from the f1s, the nittios kill the f1s in all catagorys in my book.

Are they the same size and how much did the run you and from were. Do you think they will wear quicker?

Nitto's are much better traction all around... nice deep grooves for water, and awesome dry performance... you will FEEL the difference. Great tires, but you will pay in cost and in tread life. They are not as hard as the F1's so they stick to the road better, but wear faster... also, cheapest I've seen em for is $206/ea from discounttiredirect.com

They come in the same stock size as the F1's. If you desire more grip, but can live with departing with more money and shorter tire life, go with em. YOU WON'T be sorry... they rock... Amazingly, the 555R's (drag radials) are pretty good in the rain also... don't ask me how, but my bud's got em on his 01 and I swear his truck accellerates better in rain than mine did with the F1's....

just my 2 cents.

Do the nitto's have those ridges on the sidewalls? I prefer the smooth sidewalls like on my Mustangs BFG's

The ridges are there to protect the sidewall of the tire as well as your rims. I love the fact that they are there. I drive NT555R's daily and it's been raining here for about 3 weeks straight. They are great for dry and wet traction. I still haven't got them dialed in at the track. Only running 1.9x 60's which I was able to do with the F1's.

Just purchased a set of the 555R's. Can't wait to slab em on the truck!
