RamAir Foglight Mod
RamAir Foglight Mod
Busy weekend, got the pvc 3X4 pieces cut and painted to insert in the foglight holes.
Used 4" hole saw in the back, left front alone. The PVC piece mounts flush to the back as you can see in the first photo. Needed to get a coupler PVC fitting to get the extension so I have material to attach the hose later. There is a ridge in the front foglight holes that the 3X4 pvc pieces sets againts, looks nice and flush. On the back you will have to cut a metal bracket inorder to get the pvc fitting to work. The only thing holding them in is the ring clamp, but seems to work find. I really like the look of the front now without the ugly foglights there. Next step is to build a custom box to attach the hoses to... oh, fixed my bumper gap also.
Thanks OrlandoSVT for helping me out, made project much easier!

Just a suggestion but I would use silicon sealant or super glue (just a couple of drops) to secure the PVC pipe, they will work out of there at high speed once your hose is connected (been there, done that)! Also you might want to consider window screen for grills. This prevents insects (and small rodents) from getting sucked into the hose. The screen can be cut to fit around the big end of the PVC and sandwiched between the fog light opening and the PCV. I painted it black and it looked better than just the open hole. What do you plan to use for the hose? (dryer vent hose or something else?)
Did OrlandoSVT do this first. I recall someone who posted on the Florida Lightning Club pages having a very nice how to.
I'd be careful about the type of silicon..I believe some kinds will harm the Mass air sensor.

Here's mine. I ran out of race duct hose so I used the alum stuff, it works but............for your ducting needs www.racerwholesale.com has what you need. Been doing the fog light intake since 89, stang gt, on ever car/truck I've owned. The grill in the bumper is from a Boston Pro speaker grill.

And with my ATI charger, since I do not have the filter enclosed I am trying this out. I just suck the air in. Got the fan from an L owner here business. I usually box the filters in but..............I do have temp sensors etc to check air temps and just haven't gotten around to testing actually what the difference in temps are. I also changed the sheet rocks screws to stainless (didn't have any long enough at the time of install/pic)

No glue, the ring clamp will hold the pvc fitting in the hole fine. OrlandoSVT did tell me how to do this, the 4" shop Vac hose with the ring clap will hold up just fine, the stuff is hard plastic and very flexible. Drove home from Orlando going 80mph for over 1.5 hrs and nothing happened the the pvc fittings. The hood is stock with a mustang hood scoop installed, I built a billet grill insert for the scoop out of aluminum slats from Home Depot.
The bumper gap is easily fixed by taking your upper grill out, losing the four large bolts just enough to move the bumper up and down. There are two sets of bolts, only loosen the large ones, as you might think I had to do it twice. The bumper should go up and down and side to side. Takes two people and you might have to do it twice as the bumper tends to twist as you tighten each side separately.
Easy to do, makes me mad to think the dealer told me it can't be fixed, lazy A** ***KS!
