Lightnings cant tow anything!
I thought you guys would get a kick outta this thread. It seems some of the dumbasses at LS1.com dont think a Lightning can tow anything. Luckly MRBBQMAN and 94LightningGal stepped up to the plate and proved them wrong..
I think they're all just pissed because GM missed the boat again.

SS and WS6 both go for around 30k
'03 Cobra goes for around MSRP 33,750 and I guarantee you could get X-plan if you look around enough (that would put it at under 32k)
I consider those prices very close. The Mach 1 is even cheaper. Plus the '03 Cobra will completly destroy a SS or WS6. The small difference in price is overjustified by the speed.

That chevy truck is gonna stink. It's gonna be slow and heavy, like they said a rebadged C3.
I don't care what anyone on that site says, the SS is going to be Chevy's sport truck. 20" rims, more horsepower, a tuned suspension - those are the makings of a sports truck, or sportier then the usual truck in this case.
Why can't we have some good competition!

Like how several people stated Chevy would "outsell" the Lightning with the SS. GOOOOOD, when the SS is just another plain 'ol mass produced Chevy truck and worth next to nothing, the Lightning is still a limited production, for todays standards, vehicle, and will hold its value MUCH better.
They were bashing the lightning for the towing. But I don't know of any Lightning owner who bought it for the exceptional towing ability. I had a 99 F150 4x4 that would tow over 7000 lbs, but all I ever tow is my 3000-3500lb boat, so the Lightning does it perfectly. If I did have a larger/heavy trailer to tow, I would look at a 250 to tow it, not a Lightning.
The Lightning is extremely well rounded and verstile vehicle. Chevy can sell all the SS's they want, they won't hardly phase the Lightning world.
