2000 Lightning Wheel Specs
I have a chance to purchase a set of 2000 Lightning chrome wheels in primo shape which I would like to install on my 2001 SuperCrew. Before I take the plunge on these wheels (and then Pirelli Scorpion 285/60R18's to boot), I want to make sure the wheels will work on my truck. Here's my question(s).
What is the offset on the stock Lightning wheel? Also, will I need to purchase new lugs (studs) to install these rims on my truck? Any issue with the spacing of the studs on the hub? I think it's 5 x 135mm for my truck which shouldn't pose an issue.
Let me know what you think.
Just a side note. I know you guys talk at length about 20", 22" and 24" aftermarkets for your trucks, but I gotta say I love those 2000 18" chrome stock wheels.

18x9.5, 5.8" back space. They will work fine. I can't answer your lug nut question other than the Lightning wheel take a flat face nut/washer. No acorn nuts. Not sure what a s-crew has.
Unfortunately not... Tires either. Guess I'll venture to the local Ford parts counter for a set of 2000 Lightnting lugs. Does Ford also sell locking lugs for this application? I live in Florida and things have a way of disappearing here.
Also, thought I'd settled on a pair of new Pirelli Scorpions for these wheels but would entertain any comments or suggestions as to alternatives. Anybody...

Call you local ford parts dealer and check on prices for 14mm lightning lugnuts. Some have wanted as much as $5-7 dollars each. Here is a couple of links you might want to check out. I recently bought a set of used 2000 silver lightning wheel for my SuperCrew and hope soon to be getting some times and having them mounted. A couple of other suggestins for tire brands would be either Michelin Pilots or Falkens.

MARK-441 - I mounted a set of 285/60R18 Kuhmo Ecsta STX's on the rims and bought the lugs and locks at my local Discount Tire Store. Love the whole package. Had to purchase a rear sway bar from Hotchkis though, the new tires really force additional body role when I push a little in the twisties. Once the sway bar was installed, the whole package rocked.
Truck looks great and I've got a big smile on my face. What more could you ask for....
