Inter-cooler Question?

I just changed my t-stat and I drained about 1/2 gallon out before I pulled it. About a 1/4 gallon came out the hose. Anyway after said and done , I filled my resovior for my radiator up and looked and my inter-cooler had about a 1/2 inch in the bottom. And I had to pull my chip because my service soon light came on, it took care of the light. So my question is: is the inter-cooler connected to the radiator? It seems fine I might be parinoid because I dont want my charger to overheat. Its pumping on and off like its suppose to. If I had a leek I would have noticed it a day ago when I checked my oil. Tim

No.
my inter-cooler had about a 1/2 inch in the bottom.
If you have a '99/'00, then you have a normal leaking I/C.
If you have a '01/'02, then you have a RARE leaking I/C.
Make a service appointment to have the I/C replaced.

NO, they are seperate systems. Both systems use coolant, BUT are not connected.
You have a RARE model, take care of it!

They'll use a dye to see if it is in fact leaking. It sure dosen't evaporate, but thats fine. Not that you would ever use a chip, but if you did it should be out of the truck. Dis-connect the battery with the lights on to drain the system for a good 20 min.
Keep an eye on the level of the I/C. Put a mark at its level right now and you'll see how fast the leak is. DO NOT LET THE SYSTEM RUN DRY WITHOUT DIS-CONNECTING THE I/C PUMP, located under radiator.

Appriciate you help. Skankdog and me fiqured out why the service light was on. Theres a metal tube that comes from the valve cover to the rubber boot on the throttle body was disconnected. He just happen to have a dionostic tool that told us the #1 and #4 was too lean. Amazing that the little hose disconnected would make it run lean. Its just pushed in the boot and I don't see how it don't lose its vaccum or its pressure. I think it would do the same if you take off your oil cap. I'm no machanic it takes me trial and error. Oh on the cooler I'm just going to check it everyday to see how its doing. I don't want Ford in my motor. If it can hold for awhile untill I get my new motor from PSP I'm going to.

if i'm not mistaken, you have to swap your accessories to the new "built" engine.. like a/c, alt, upper intake, intercooler, ect.
