Cool Downtown Kill...

Bringing the wife home from the doctor's office today (bad migraine) and this kid pulls up beside me in a 80ish GMC with no muffler and a big ole country boy grin. We are in the turn lane and he revs his engine three times to get me to look over. I look and he grins and gives a thumbs up and another rev to which I give a "not interested" nod. I have damaged goods on board.
He revs twice more in anticipation of the green light, as the cross traffic stops. I don't know what he is thinking since we can not accelerate for more than ten feet before a 90 degree turn has to be made??? In any case, GREEN LIGHT!!!, he surges forward--I ease on the gas and we both make the turn. We both practically idle to the next red light, 50 yards ahead, this time both in the straight ahead lane. Once again, rev, rev, from the GMC! I am a peaceful sort, but this is gettin' just a little irritating. I pull up short to the light, bringing my front wheels even with his rear wheels. More rev rev from the GMC! At this point I touch base with my wife by saying: " I just may have to had this guy his a s s if this crap keeps up." Bare in mind that this is a major intersection downtown at 4:00 PM and on the wrong side of town cop wise!! I enlist the aid of the wife (who by the way normally rides in a 2002 WS6 TA convertible) and we are both in "cop scan mode". The coast is clear! As the cross traffic clears and the turn lane light goes red, the GMC revs against his brakes, the light goes green and I roll on the throttle while he nails it! I am three truck lengths ahead at the shift to second!! At this time I tap the brakes to let him know its over... BINGO, off to my right twenty feet ahead is a cop waiting to enter traffic from a parking lot -- hope he didn't here the squeal of my tires! Then ahead, in the approaching lane, another black and white!!! I haven't been above 50 mph yet and neither show an interest. WHEW, a narrow escape! My wife and I discuss the potential outcome (read ticket) if the contest had lasted for only a few seconds more... I am really too old for this type of thing... but hell, I was provoked don't ya think???

Hey Southern Star...

I see your running a 2lb upper, 6lb lower. Are you doing this on the stock block/internals? And have you had any problems? Thanks
