Great deal on GTech Pro/Competition (long)
Just got my new GTech Pro/Competition from Summit ($249). To my surprise, a letter was inside entitling me to a free upgrade to full data logging capabilities with a PC interface (included in the $299 version, which Summit does not sell)! Here is the full text of the letter:
"Dear Customer, Congratulations, you are one of the first few hundred owners of the new G-TECH/Pro COMPETITION. We thank you for your purchase.
For the past four years we have worked very hard on this new and exciting product, which will help you improve your driving a vehicle performance like no other product in its class. Now we are asking for a little help from you.
We need your impressions and suggestions on how to improve the existing features of the new G-TECH. We call this concept "Democracy in Design". It is one of the major reasons for the great success of the original G-TECH/Pro Performance Meter. We truly give our customers what they want. Five out of six main feature requests from our customers made it into the original G-TECH.
With our new product, we have brought this kind of service to another level. Using a PC computer, you can put completely new brains into your G-TECH. We can send updates via e-mail or regular mail, or if this sounds too complicated, you can always send us your unit for a free upgrade.
For your considering to help make the G-TECH the best it can be, we have upgraded your purchase to the DELUXE version which includes power adapter, download cable, and a software package which will be released in the near future. That's a \$50 value, a symbol of gratitude for your support.
Here is how it works. Read the preliminary instruction manual, take the unit out and play with it in your car. Write down any comments, wish-list of features, and criticisms. Then e-mail that information to us at comsogtechpro.com. If you don't want to use e-mail, write your comments on the registration card. We will gather all comments over next couple of months and use them in our finalized version of the software. When the time comes we will contact you and provide you with the latest software version. Once you receive it you can download it to the G-TECH from your PC and enjoy results of our team effort. You are entitled to free upgrades for next three years.
In order for this program to work, it is very important that we know how to get in touch with you. You may have purchased the G-TECH/Pro COMPETITION from one of our dealers and we may not have your information. That's why it is critical for you to register your G-TECH.
