L vs. NSX

Guy wouldn't race me but I just wanted to see if others had good outcomes.

Well, awhiles back when I first got my L I raced a lady in a NSX. I got beat. I spun way too much. A couple months ago I met her again, this time no spin and beat her. Not by much though.

One of the managers here at work has a 93 NSX. The first thing someone said to me was that the NSX would beat my truck, and this giant rivalry started... but it was all other people. Me and the NSX guy just kind of listened to it. heh.
Anyway, finally one day we were on a 2 lane road, at a stoplight. We both went, but neither of us was at full throttle. I jumped ahead, but we caught up to traffic before we reached 60. He takes his car to street races and stuff... but from reading stories and stuff, I don't think I'll ever race anyone on the street. He won't go to a track. I've never been to one anyway.
Soo the answer to your question is "I don't know".
Heh.

I smoked a early 90's NSX and a Boxster S the same day about 18 months ago. Both cars have to KILL the clutch to get any launch at all....

Thumbs up L gets the nod !!!

You're smart not to street race, see if you can set up a grudge race at a sanctioned track. You should take him on a full 1/4 mile run, provided you fine tune your launch technique and limit wheelspin on takeoff. I say take him down, later, John H.

Yeah I 've had a few try to mess with me at about 60-70 rolling but I'm smart enough to know high end is not the L's strengh.

my roomate has a '91 NSX, and yes, my L is quicker (with a chip, pulley, and K&N). He's finally starting to mod his NSX, so I'm going to need to keep pace All stock, he runs about 13.7 on a gtech, so you do need to get the launch right.

But when you get to the twisties, don't even think about it... the NSX will be so far ahead, you won't even get a chance to catch em on the straights

I lined up with one at the track last summer. Mid 90's vintage. I ran a 13.2 and he did a 13.8. No idea of his mod status.

Off the line, it should be a close race, although I would probably put my money on the *L*. However, at higher speeds, it's a different story. Those DOHC NSX's are total highway monsters with their ability to produce gobs of power at high rpms. Being very aerodynamic also doesn't hurt either.

NSX

0-60: 5
1/4 Mile: 13.4
Transmission: Manual

L

0-60: 5.8
1/4 Mile: 13.6
Transmission: Automatic

It's possible to beat him. Human error plays a larger part on manual transmissions. Get a couple mods and you'll be fine from stop to 1/4
