Fuel Cell.
here is what it takes to make a SAFE and effictive road race fuel system.since I am in the middle of doing one and have made a few changes from the original design.
First a fuel cell and not the molded plastic one,Then since cells were designed for carbs and not EFI,you will need a surge tank of some sort because you will be going around turns and if the pump sucks air then your motor will stumble.I originally designed if for 2 blue pumps feeding a surge tank[2 quarts]then a HI PSI pump feeding off the bottom of the surge tank and a return off the top of the tank back to the cell.[no regulators were to be put in the lines for the blues because I needed full volume].Then a return from the fuel rail back to the cell also.
But here is the redesigned system a surge tank IN the cell first it eliminates 12 fitting that could leak and narrows it down to just 4.The Hi psi pump is now INSIDE the cell also cooler running and quieter,as if I care.
So now you are wondering what all this safety costs?Try about 2000.00 bucks and I still have to make the adapter fittings for the lines and make and install the billet fuel rails and extra psi line to in[one for each rail and also PSI reg.and one 3/8 return line]
After all I am running WOT for over 40 minutes straight.
and the exhaust is in the works too.but that is another story by itself.Stan
PS thanks for the help $ and you know who you are!!.
