The joys of finding a helmet

[rant start]

Is really no joy at all.

I have been searching from store to store. All I ask is to find few SA2000 helmets to try on and get a comfortable fit from. Nope can't happen. Best I've found is M2000, and I believe it was a Shoi.

I gave up 5 shops ago trying to explain to salesmen that there is such a thing as an SA2000 approved helmet, or SA2000 is different from M2000.

I don't want to resort to ordering one over the internet and hope it's a good fit

Jersey guys - does anyone now any shops I can go to that has them, b/c I can't find any.

Do you know your hat size?

Just order a Simpson Super Bandit from Summit. Tell them what size hat you wear and they should be able to fix you up. Unless your head has an irregular shape.

Call one of the road courses in your area and ask them where the racing supply shops are located.

I agree that you should buy it in person. I ended up getting one locally with a size a lot different than I expected.

Thats a nono. You haven't seen him drive Remember he gets in trouble with a look-a-like-a-police vehicle.

So true brother, so true!

The sad part is when I'm doing 100mph on the Parkway, or chase my freinds around in New York City, I don't get nothing... but when I'm being good and driving with family or friends minding my own business, I'm just a perfect cop magnet especialy if my car looks a lot more like a police car rather than the actual car that pulls me over.... grrrr!

Hopefully this will be my lucky # 7.... first non-white though... I really want a NY State Police Blue...
