Couldn't they just ask to see your state's drivers license since they see you live in america?
while we're on the subject..
i got a ticket back in april.. mr motorcycle officer stated i made a left turn when its posted no left turn.. i guess he must have closed his eyes when i was in the middle pulling a U turn after i pulled out in to the center and waited for the oncoming cars to pass.. anyhow, i sent it in not guilty.. got my paperwork back saying they had no case # and to call.. so i call a week later and they finally have a case #.. sent it back in not guilty and i am still waiting on my court date.. would anyone happen to know about due process laws since its taken over 2 months to get a court date? if i have to mail it in within 30 days they should have to send me my court date within 30 days after that. only seems fair to me!

Though they still have radar AT each toll-booth and will give you a citation for going to quickly through toll-booths.

No wonder I always run tolls..
I also better slow down too. 75 through Tolltag lanes might get me something.. Hehe.

Beefcake,
Here's an added thought. By using a little physics, math, and human kinetics, it may be easy to prove the 80mph reading was not accurate because of human reaction time error on the stopwatch that clocked you over the marks. It all depends how deep you want to dive into this to get off.
I mean, these other guys are talking about radar training and calibration, what about hand-eye reflex checkups on the ******* operating the stopwatch, and heck, throw in stopwatch calibration too
Figure, why not at least give them the real BURDEN of proof
I strongly suggest against getting a jury trial on a speeding ticket. I know that I personally, would be a pissed off juror if I got called off of work to be on a traffic ticket jury.
Where'd that happen anyway?
My sympathies to you...

every juror is aware of that ... If you continue to just
lay down and give up your rights, pretty soon you
WON'T HAVE ANY LEFT !!!

Let me start by saying, I completely understand what you are saying SVT_KY, and I agree with you completely.
But the reason I personally would suggest against it, is because you have to get a jury to be sympathetic to your side of the case. Sure, we all know they're supposed to be impartial, etc, etc. But this isn't a life or death cause, they aren't deciding to put you in jail. Chances are, there'd be at least a few that saw taking a traffic citation to jury as a waste of their time. And those who think so will have that in the back of their mind the whole time they're formulating their decisiions.
I guess I just don't see it as worthwhile to get a jury in there. Once you play that card, you know they're gonna bring the thunder. In general, there's no more bargaining for a speedo violation (or anything like it), it's all or nothing fom that point.
All I'm really saying, is sometimes you're just better off trying to convince the judge or the DA into a 0 points + cash bargain by using the inconsistencies in the case against them.

animal,
It has been my experience that the DA usually just drops the
charge because he figures that I must know somebody or
something about the case that he does not.
Not saying that the system is rigged (IT IS), just that you have to play the game

scanners
when I used to live in New Hampshire the used planes to clock us. The remedy was a portable scanner that would pick out their channels when the plane communicated with the squad car. THat way we knew when and where they were around.
It didn't take long to find out which channels they used and just set the scsanner. worked like a charm.

You will end up paying for this ticket for at least the next three years. That's how long it will take for it to come off your driving record, and your insurance company will love you for it.
I go to court on EVERY ticket I recieve. (thankfully I haven't got many lately
) Being a commercial driver who specializes in hauling toxic gases and radioactive materials, my record is very important to my job. Just goofing off in the L could possibly put me out of work, because the DMV doesn't care what you were driving when ticketed.
If you can, reschedule the court date. They usually give you one chance to reschedule, just call the court and ask, it won't hurt. The advantage to this is that the trooper/troopers that wrote the ticket will have a bunch of appearances for the date they gave you, but rescheduling may throw that out of sync, causing them to miss the next date. Worked for me in Knoxville once.
Also, don't go into this looking to waik away with your wallet intact. They want your money, and will probably wind up getting some, just keep your losses as little as possible. A reduced fine and no points is better than, just paying up, which is what they hope you will do. Good luck.
Before you guys reading this start to form some bad impressions of me, just let me say that I've only had two minor violations in my CMV. Most of my tickets have came just like yours, while ****ing around in my personal vehicle. Over 1.5 million safe miles and counting.
