ProPipe?
ProPipe?
Is BABolts air-induction-art 80mm, 90mm, or 92mm. I've seen all three numbers before and would like to know. It's really not that expensive when you consider what buying a 92mm MAF and an induction kit would cost.:o
I feel like monkey boy.:o Apparently, the stock MAF fits on the inside of the proPIPE and the $395.00 is for the tube and filter only. Not so great a deal as I thought. It is pretty though. I do not need pretty under the hood. It is still a great piece. Just not suited to my needs. I was under the impression that it was all one piece from the threads I've read in the past. I must have misunderstood what was being said. I am kind of limited at times. I forget to take my medication.

Odin,
Sorry...I should have cleared that up. The stock MAF electronics and the IAC are removed from the truck and installed on the Pro-PIPE (hence no changes to the computer required). Given that the Pro-PIPE has nearly 10% more "flow" area than a 90mm MAF and the fact that the it doesn't make use of Ford's super flow efficient convoluted/accordian rubber intake boot it should flow a fair amount more air...but if pretty isn't your gig that fair enough.

So....the electronics are removed from the MAF unit and reinstalled onto the proPIPE? Not the whole MAF slid inside the tube? The smallest flow area on this piece is 95mm? I'm not always this stupid. When I'm asleep, I'm as smart as any other sleeping person.
Odin,
Yep...the electronics of the MAF are removed from the stock MAF (two tamper-proof Torx head screws) and inserted into a MAF housing on the ProPIPE (you can see the stock MAF electronics and the new MAF housing at the bottom center of the picture). The pipe is 95.2mm in diameter at the open end and is then "formed" into the oval shape necessary for the throttle body...but the it's still a big-azz pipe flowing lots of air.

OK. I had the general idea in the first place. I got side-tracked though. Thanks for the help Struck in AZ. The slow people of the world benefit from your very presence.
I hope I haven't confused any of the other slow people reading this thread.
Is there another way to get in touch with Mike aside from his website. His old email addy doesn't work anymore. Thanks.
