17k and right front disk fried

After 17k miles on my 2001 Lightning my right front disk on the brakes is totally fried. It has hair line cracks and black spots.

They told me that since the left side pads are almost all the way worn, that they consider this normall wear and tear.

Im really pissed as the disks on my 94 z28 that made over 600 rwhp lasted 47k miles.

I was even considering buying aan 03 Cobra but if 17k for brakes on a ford is normall then its times to go back to Chevy and get a Z06!

Dont get me wrong I love my truck and its my daily driver that I drive pretty normall every day.

Well,
Consider the weight difference between your Chevy and this truck.
I would venture that if the pads are worn out with that mileage then to me it would be obvious that the cracked rotor caused the excessive wear. They should replace it under warranty. That is my opinion of course.

Man at 46 My frontal lobes are shot to ****...I would change with you today

What were the symptoms that your brakes showed when they went bad?

Ronnie, I finally turned the front discs on my 2000 at 46,000 miles. I NEVER thought they would come lcose to that on a 5000 lb. truck.

And this is in LA driving, where you are on the brakes more than the gas.
