As I understand it the chip adjusts AF ratio, timing etc across the rev range and accounts for various mods. My question is this:

Say I have a chip that is burned for 90mm MAF,air filter,breather cap and 4-6lb lower pulley.

I don't have the belt to run the pulley yet and I don't wanna max out the tensioner making the belt tight as heck. Would it hurt the truck to run the other mods with the chip but not the pulley?

I would think all it would do is make the truck run a little rich since it is accounting for air that is not there, thus having too much fuel.

Am I looking at this wrong?

Wes, as long as the only thing you are NOT using is the pulley, you'll be fine. Like you said, it will just run richer than needed since you are not yet giving it the extra air.

I ran my chip with all mods except for the 4lb pulley for over a month and had no problems except for running rich as hell. Other than that, no problems. Hope this helps.

I was gonna say that i noticed you added the SHO to your sig and that Mustang you showed me a few months ago that you were thinking of getting. So i guess you got it hehe whats the plan for her .

 

Yeah, I put the Cobra on the road, a nice fun driver for Lisa to use if I need the 95 for tow duty and she's not coming. The SHO is for sale, think I have a buyer, but figured what the hell, put the pic there anyway .

 

Just don't run the blower belt. You can see what your motor is like w/o the boost.
