Thumbs up New Kid To Svts From Kc!!!!!

Howdy yall??

I live in KC. I just got back from Houston from pickn up my 02' "L"
WOW!! What a truck..I never knew how many people around here would stare. They see it and look and look and look...

Have 1000 miles..Am ready to leter really really rip now..One thing that sucks...I notice alot of air coming in from the outside under the dash by the pedals. I think a fresh air vent may be open..Anyone have this problem??

I am thinking of a K&N filter..Are they worth it?? Any real performance or is it just a better deal???

I love this truck..Gonna keep it forever..Well may have to live out of it (HA HA). Talk about some tires..This is a silly message..just really excited..Love driving it..I got a white one and its beautiful.

Talk to me folks..Have a great day...What was it someone told me.
Love driving my L..One quarter mile at a time!!

Matt

Matt,
Congratulations on the new truck, these Lightnings are awesome.
And you did pick the quickest color (White), soon to be leading the way.

Glad to hear it; Welcome aboard! Finding this hangout was a great find on your part! Much can be learned from here. Not to take anything away from this board, but if you're from the KC area, also check out this 'local' Hangout on the National Lightning Owners Club board: http://nloc.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=406 (aka MKLO - Missouri Kansas Lightning Owners). There's about 30-40 "local" owners who hang in and out of there, as well as all the major tuners. Absolutely great bunch of people, and hardcore gearheads to boot. No attitudes here, just good people. NLOC is in the works of putting together a Lightning Fest for 2003 and Heartland Park is the front runner for location. As it is here, you don't have to be a dues-paying member to post to the board, so come on over and join in...

SVTOA also has a KC chapter that has just formed: http://www.svtoa.com/forum/summary.a...%5FAP560285939 KCIR has already been rented for a drag event in August as has Heartland Park for a 2 day "everything" event in November. Both events have the full backing of the SVTOA. The November event will have full participation from SVT! FYI: Your 2002 SVT purchase includes a 1 year membership to SVTOA.

Many events coming up quickly. Drags, show-n-Shine, AutoCross, Open Track...you name it, it's happening in the KC area.

The month of July has Drags, 3 autocross events, several open track events (including a Hi Perf. Car Control Clinic on the 20-21st at Heartland Park), and more.

Next big event is a 2-day all Ford (powered) drag/show fest at KCIR on July 13-14. We've negotiated a 2 day 'super ticket' with the dragstrip (just for us Lightnings) to get us in for Test-n-Tune on Saturday, and Show-n-shine & Drags on Sunday. If you're interested, it'll save you some $$.

Hope this gets you upto speed a bit...

What a coincidence. I just got back from buying my white Lightning in Houston a few days ago myself. I bought a modded up '99 though. I saw a newer white one drive by on the tollway while I was picking mine up. Maybe it was you .

It might mean that the 'afterglow' lasts as long when enjoying your new L as it does after you've....................stretched your legs .
