Question Bassani ?'s

I am looking into buying the Bassani catback system for my L. Can anyone point me in the right direction to the cheapest place to purchase them? I am hoping they will be louder than my current Flowmasters. They are very deep WOT but sounds stock when at idle...

Another thing.... I checked out the bassani website and it looks like the catback for our trucks is the street thunder series? By the description they give, it sounds like this is their most conservative and quietest system. Do they offer anything in the street competition line, or the racing line. Seems like this would be the sound I was looking for?

Any tips or comments would be great

Jon

me thinks you will have to go with bassani or silver bullit plus tubes. Bassani is great gurgle even at idle, but if you really are looking to have a great perfect sound,, possibly even too loud,, get a set of Lt's and high cats to go with it, you will not be dissapointed.

PS,, my Bassani is much louder now after its got 4K miles on it then it was stock,,, makes me love it even more each day.

oh yeah,,, if you download j15big's video he's got posted here, there is a truck with JJ's SVT sticker on the side,,, that truck has sivler bullit plus long tubes I beleive,, sounds most excellent.

That was a quick reply.

I couldnt imagine the LT's being that much louder than the shorties I have. Not $1000 louder anyway The long tubes are steel if I"m not mistaken, not 24K gold right? HAHA

Where did you get your bassani, and did you have any problems bolting it up, or did you have it welded or custom installed?

Talking Bassani

Try Here for a great deal on the BAssani catback.

And BTW.......it is A LOT louder with long tubes and high flows

I still think my exhaust is one of my best mods I have done......even after considering I spent $2,000 on it

Its a very easy bolt on,, did it myself with ease. The only thing I did differently was I bought some much stronger Ubolts as clamps, used a 3/4 instead of the 1/2 that come with it.

hdmlnium used to have the bassani with the shorties,, he would know the difference in sound better.

God bless you for going all out on your exhaust!

While I could never even contimplate spending $2,000 dollars on an exhaust system, I am in TOTAL awe that you did. You must be proud as a new father every time you start your truck. . .I know I would be. Could you (or have you?) post some sound bites of your exhaust? I want to hear what that exhaust sounds like with long tubes and high flow cats. I'll bet it sounds awesome.

You're the man, Joe!

Actually if you think about it a lot of people have spent that much.

Long tubes w/ high flow cats = $1300
Bassani or Silver Bullet = $550-$650

There are also quite a few people who have posted sound clips on the web........since I do not have the ability to make a sound clip I can not for ya man.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Does anyone know if you can get the race line series mufflers instead of the Quiet thunder mufflers that come with most kits?
I'd hate to spend the $700 and not have it much louder than my current Flowmasters. What do you guys think? I've got dual 40 series and JBA headers....

Psst. . .

I'd keep the FlowMasters and the JBA headers.

The gains (if any, which I doubt) from the 'other' exhaust aren't worth the $$$$'s. Unless of course sound is worth $700-$1200 to you. Just my opinion. Headers, yes. Cat back, no.

I've heard thats true, but it is there quietest muffler right?? Who the hell do these bassani people think us L owners are huh? haha
I want it loud but i'm not spending 2 grand on some metal unless its new rims...
What i want is there catback system but with 2 race line mufflers and the x-pipe, i bet that would sound sweet.

I bought a set of Bassani's (Cat back) from Mark at LightninForce. A supporting vendor, I might add, and service WAS the best. Time between ordering and delivery, 6 working days. I was provided with a UPS Tracking # so I could watch my shipment came accross the country.
