The problem I am having on my '01 L is that the fuel gauge does not work properly. Sometimes when I start the engine, it reads empty and sometimes it reads full. Two weeks ago I was driving down the highway and ran out of gas when the guage was reading 1/4 tank left. I took it to the ford dealership where I purchased her and they replaced the whole guage cluster. Well, guess what? It worked the first full tank but not the second. I again found myself walking to the gas station when the fuel guage read 1/4 tank. Now I have a hesitation in the engine when I am at a constant speed down the highway.

Can anyone help me. Has this happened to anyone else.
