Jeez, got into the truck this evening and had no sound from the left speakers (checked balance). This is with the stock deck. SO i went to try out my old trusty kenwood excelon deck taken out when i traded my '99. NO SOUND AT ALL from the excelon; although it worked absolutely fine in the 99 L before (checked wires, seemed ok). any ideas? Has anyone had this happen? I figure that since it happened with the stock deck, I would just take it back for warranty, but is there something stupid that i'm missing?

Blown speaker. THe reason your kenwood prolly didn't work is your left from speaker is prolly shorted(blown) and any aftermarket deck will shut down the IC chip(the amp) when one channel is shorted. THe factory however will not. Take a multimeter and put it on Ohms and go between your speaker leads and see of they all show aroud 3.5-6 ohms.
