Is it a Factory Line motor or Not.

For those who have had a replacement long block this info was shared with me..so I'll pass it along. Maybe someone we know and trust from here can shed some light on it.

A Factory, I believe his title was Tech Rep....he works with the shop mechanics and techs, told me the way to determine if you recieved a retagged Factory line engine that was sent to the remanufacturers is to check the oil filter that comes with said block. If it is grey in color..or if is white with a small yellow, say 1/8th inch square on it near the Motorcraft name it is said to be a new factory engine.

Hope this is true and hope it helps ...it eased My mind.

Well, that depends on what kind of motor it is. On the Lightning, the oil filter does not attach directly to the block, there is an oil heat exchanger that bolts on. Reman motors don't come with that kind of stuff on it, you have to swap it over. So in the case of a Lightning motor, I'd think if it has an oil filter on it, it's a line motor. I don't recall ANY reman motors I've ever installed having oil filters on them.

Yes it came with a new heat exchanger. It was laying in the valley. Thanks Sal.
