Question Power train Lightning vs Harley or converting a rice boy

Hi:

I am currently working on Project: Convert a Rice Boy
A friend of mine with a 9 psi roots/sc intergra is looking for a new ride. He has been very impressed with my CSVT and is looking at both the lightning and the Harley.

I have spent the last couple days reading the FAQ's and searching the posts ex.. but knowing my friend the the shock / struts / springs will be off as soon as it's off the lot.

I can not find a solid list of drivetrain differances between the two, could someone point me in a good direction.

Thanks

the only drivetrain difference is a pulley to reduce the boost on the Harley. it can be modded with all the Lightning aftermarket parts

OK, I'll ask the next question: Are there any suspension differences between the HD and same year L?

L has a one piece drive shaft, harley has a two piece, but can be upgraded to L drive shaft very easy.

bigger upper pulley, 2 psi less then the L, just put a 6 pound lower to get the same effect of 4 on a lightning

other then that everything is pretty much the same for the drivetrain. but the inside of the harley is soooooo freaking nice all cromed out and leather

Yeah, I think the HDs have nicer interior trim. I like the L bucket shape better, but the HD materials are nicer. It would also be nice to have a little more interior space once in a while. I'm not sure I'd need two extra doors though - then I'd have to drive everybody around at lunch hour.

On second thought, no, I like my cramped little 2 seater.

Keep in mind, with the HD you are lugging around a bunch of extra weight. You'll need to upgrade beyond L spec to get the same performance, and the handling will never be as good.

Just to make sure he knows but, he would have to use the one piece aluminum driveshaft off a 00 or 01 HD and not off a L because of the longer length. just a fyi
