Angry Now That He's Officially a Supporting Vendor...

Jim,

I opted to go with one of your interchangeable pulleys and put my original non-interchangeable pulley up for sale. The non-interchangeable pulley was sold and paid for two months ago and at that time I removed it from my truck. As several others have done (being that you're now on the third iteration of spindle/mounting system), the spindle stripped while I was removing the pulley. Your shop was called and I was told that a new spindle could be installed, so off the pulley went with the understanding that you would ship it directly to its new owner in Florida (rather than back to Arizona and then to Florida and that I would take care of any packaging and shipping charges to its new owner). So, no news from you guys for several weeks at which point I began to call. I got the same story that you didn't have any spindles and that they'd be in "tomorrow." Four weeks worth of tomorrows later and now suddenly the pulley needs a new bearing and a spindle (I find it hard to believe that the bearings are only good for 500 miles - the pulley was on my truck for approximately three months and I only drive it less than 200 miles per month). Needless to say, the bearing is now the part you're waiting for and it's allegedly been on its way for a week. In fact, just got off the phone with Julie and was told that the bearings are coming in Saturday and the pulley will go out Monday. We shall see...

Julie was also kind enough to call me this Wednesday though to see if I was still interested in a set of traction bars that I had ordered nearly five months ago (and everytime I had called to inquire as to the status of those I was always "next on the list" to get them). My understanding is that a number of people have purchased these and had them installed at the various FFW events that you have attended. Needless to say, I purchased a set of bars from JJ and the brackets were delivered as promised and the bars are on their way (confirmed with a UPS tracking number). I did take the opportunity with Julie to see if the pulley had shipped and I was initially told yes, however upon asking for a tracking number the story changed to "we're still waiting on the bearing for that."

The fact that it has taken over a month with numerous telephone inquiries from myself and the person who bought it from me and that there is still no resolution to the issue is inexcusable. If you can't or are unwilling to fix the pulley that I sent you just say so. I'll refund the person's money, take my non-working pulley and throw it away. I cannot believe that a spindle and bearing have eluded you for this long while you've shipped how many of the new interchangeables in that time? I can think of at least two because I have installed them on friends' trucks.

I can respect the fact that you're busy and have grown exponentially in the last few months but honest answers or estimates for delivery dates, or even a phone call now and then, would do wonders to promote your customer service image. My $.02...

Dan

In all honesty, whether Jim is now a Supporting Vendor or not, why would you post this in a public forum? It sounds like you an issue with the way your order was handled, so why not contact JDM directly and get it resolved?

We discourage all of our Supporting Vendors from actually conducting business on these forums, which includes discussing individual order status, refunds, etc. A public forum is simply not the place to handle was should be one-to-one interaction. Threads of this nature result in "piling on," hearsay, conjecture, etc. which benefits nobody.

For this reason, I am closing this thread now. If there is some other agenda as to why a complaint would be posted or for that matter, re-posted once the thread has been closed, I am going to ask that you do not start a new thread on the topic.

I am sure Jim, or a representative of his company has read this and will respond, which was the assumed intent of the thread, so any further discussion should be taken offline between you and them. Thank you for your cooperation.

Steve
