Cat-back vs. Full system

Being new owner of a 2002 L, im very intrested in the colective knowledge/opinions of this fourm. Im looking to put the propipe on and new exhaust. But my question is... With a full system am I going to see a whoping increase of HP over a cat-back system?

In other words... whats the best system to go with for cat-back and whats the best for full system?

Thanks.

Well you are going to see more power out of a full setup but that is because you will see nothing from just a catback. It is up to you on the catback according to how much you want to spend and how loud you want your exhaust to sound. As for the front........the only way to go are long tube headers and high flow cats.

Try a search under "exhaust" "catback" or "long tubes"

its really up in the air, I would say a stock truck the LT's are not going to help that much , maybe some , same with the catback , maybe some . if you are looking just for the sound , catback is more cost efficiant.

I had a catback before I got my headers and cats.

Headers and cats along with a catback will improve hp and tq but only if you're making a lot more boost and are seeing the improvements that a chip, pulley, and filter kit provide. I've heard talk that headers, cats, and catback can actually slow you down without all the other mods like a chip, filter, and pulley.

The best and most simple way is to start with a catback and work up from there. Hell, if you get all your mods at the same time you won't have anything to look forward too.

If I had it to do over, I would buy a cheap catback that gives some good sound first and with the saved money get a chip and filter.

Thumbs up

If money isnt an option then i would say Bassani Cat-Back all the way. I had my Bassani cat back for over a year and love it. Still one of the best mods i have done. I didnt feel like i lost anything actully felt like i gained a little. But we all know you dont do exhuast on these truck for performance its for sound. I wanted the loudest exhuast they had out and that was the Bassani. I have the sound clip at home so i cant post it of the Bassani Cat-Back with Longtubes the sound is just sick sounds like a wild animal. I should be getting the longtubes real soon and i cant wait. Maybe someone can post that sound file i think i got it from Tim(Chikenears). Also many people have said the Bassani/LT/High Flow Cats combo is the loudest exhuast after hearing a silver bullet dual in person and the sound clip i think the Bassani is louder. Oh and the tips are awesome on the Bassani 4 inches and stainless they shine. So if you got the money and want the loudest i say Bassani.
