I think our Good Year F1's are one of the best. You should be able to get 25 to 30 thousand miles out of them unless you are doing a lot of burn outs. I have 15000 on my front ones now and there only about half way gone. I changed my back ones for a new set just to have better traction on the rear and when my fronts wear down I will put my old back tire on the front and finish wearing them out. This way Im only buy 2 at a time and keep good tires on the back all the time.
This guy can sell you F1's @ 163.00 each and send them to you for about 12.00 a tire. He has sold many sets to guys here and sent them as far as Alaska. If you want F1's give him a call. C&D Tires 251-865-1778
Thanks to usahooters, mine should be here today.....can't beat it!!
Ask for Charlie, he's more than willing to help..... ...JR

Not to bash anyone, but I wouldn't like to see anyone dissapointed. I happen to think the F1's are the best choice as well...but don't expect 30,000 miles out of them. I live in South Florida where the roads are hot and laced with coral , I drive my truck pretty conservatively and just changed tires at 20,000. They may look like they have 50% tread left, until you put them next to a new F1! A good semi-stick hi performance tire will not last as long as its counterpart , harder rubber tire of the same size,Thats the trade-off.

Assuming that you are living in a place that it rains... It is normally better to run the tires with the deepest tread on the front. The front tires will push the water out of the way for the rears to follow thru less water than the fronts had to deal with. The down side is when pushed too far the rear will oversteer in bad rain storms.

Nitto 555's have nice deep treads and are better wet and dry than the stock F1's... but they cost more and don't last as long... so... 206/ea from discounttiredirect.com

you should get 10-15k out of the Nitto's from what I'm told...I haven't even put mine on yet. the traction rocks though...drove my buddies L with the 555's. softer than the F1's...launching becomes much easier with these suckers...

Nitto 555R's (drag radials) last about 10-15K. Normal 555's should last a lot longer than that. Have 555R's on the back of my 93 lx and normal 555's on the front. They have roughly 12K on them and the front ones arent even worn much.

Those Nitto drag radials don't last much more than 10000 miles around here. I believe the regular 555's are on par with the F1's.
