OK, so this thread went totally off topic, but I did learn a few things since then ...
Build quality is good, other concerns not much to worry about
Differences between L and HD (drove a HD Friday, more below)
12 second L's are only a few mods away
I like the Sonic Blue for 2003
Possible to get a L for near $30K in some parts of the country

Drove a 2002 HD SuperCab on Friday (local dealer didnt have any Lightnings) but I wasnt terribly impressed by something that was going to end up being on the north side of $38K. It did have all the toys though. The fit n finish seemed good, the speed wasnt very impressive, and it handled, well, like a truck. Wish I had someone local (Philadelphia area) to compare it to a Lightning.
