AFM Power Pipe Users >>>

Has anyone bought and tried the Anderson Ford Motorsports Lightning Powerpipe? It is not a bad deal in my opinion, if it is anywhere as effective as the Mustang products they make.

Anyone with input on this????

Thanks,
joe

AMF PIPE

Does it look like this:

Its a great kit and the quality is first rate.
Definite seat of the pants-o-meter step up from my open JDM and stock boot.
I am reading 1 more lb of boost with this kit and hope for 13 psi with the upper and on race mode!!
SEE YA!!!!

It doesn't... That's all at the air filter side... stock intake, it's in the filter box, with the JDM, the filter itself has the temp sensor in it. that sensor is before the pipe and MAF.

Question for you... looking at the pic, it looks like you had to modify you JDM intake to make it all fit... am I seeing things correctly? looks like the filter butts right up next to the fenderwall hole, instead of the support ring and foam tubing...

what's up with that?!?

Doesn't have to be. On the Volant kit, it's on the intake duct. There doesn't seem to be any room on the filter in the picture for it either. Do you have the Power-Pipe, or are you guessing. The PSP kit has it on the filter connector, also. No slam intended, I just want to be clear on the issue.

Thanks.

Got the info from AFM... called em up 3 days ago... they use a similar filter like JDM uses...Steven at AFM told me there's a plug there on the neck... I don't see it even in their catalog... but I guess he'd know... so I guess the temp sensor is on the filter. Trying to decide what to get myself... I love the look of the babolt-on pipe.,.. but the price is a bit harsh...

Didn't take it as a slam... no biggie...

Thanks!

There are some very sensitive people around and I was trying to be careful.

I make slightly incorrect statements too often to be sensitive... I'm good at repeating what I've been told... but if I was given wrong info to begin with, well, all I can do is post what I know and hope someone smarter can add on or correct me... usually I'm pretty close... I try to research a little if I'm not positive...

It installs in the rubber elbow just upstream of the TB

Thanks for the heads up. I couldn't tell from the pics above, or on the site; but, I suspected as much.

I'm just not convinced the PP makes any performance difference on the Lightning. From their own dyno chart, it shows a 5 HP gain switching from the stock airbox to the PP *and* a 12" open filter. I'm wondering how much of that 5 HP comes from the filter.

If I'm buying the PP on looks alone, then the BABOLT pipe is going to win hands down.

GRRRR, now I am mad... I called the tech line at AFM, and Steve answered and told me it was in the filter!?!?! Odin's Wrath... apparently I was mis-informed... Sorry for the confusion... I'll be the first to admit I was wrong... but you'd think their tech guy would know... I asked him twice, making sure he knew I was tlaking about the lightning kit....

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

ok I'm over it.. I just hate making an *** of myself...

beefcake2002L,

There is only one tech guy at AFM, Rick Anderson, and he is currently on vacation.

Sorry you were misinformed.

I' not sure yet but it looks like the 03 Colbra tube from Throttle Body to MAF will work just fine for Us.
