!*($@) stock exhaust!!
Yesterday afternoon I figured I'd take some time and do some basic things to my truck (hardwire the V1, install the exhaust, drop shackles, fog light mod, etc). Well, I didn't get crap done on my truck because I fought the stock exhaust for 3 hours and STILL can't get the damn thing off. I even went so far as to try and "blow" it off as some people said they have done on the track (pretty much just have it disconnected and proceded to go romp on it trying to blow it off). I finally gave up and just decided to take it to a shop, which I hate to do. Anyone have any final suggestions to try before I take it to someone else? I don't have a torch or anything to heat it, but I got it pretty warm runnin around and it still wouldn't come off. I tried yanking, tugging, and pushing to no avail. I tried kicking it with my feet from the front. I even tried putting a hydrolic jack between the frame and the can and it STILL wouldn't come off. I'll probably have it spot welded on anyway, so I guess I might as well take it to someone. :-/ It's just VERY frustrating ...
dremel tool could cut it as well. me,,, I had one person lay in the very back by the wheels and wiggle the cat bak up and down and much as they could, all while i was pulling,,, took only five minutes of this to get it off. It works its way loose very well this way and if you can get too people, have one of you grap at a secure spot by the end of hte muffler and wiggle.

The problem is when the factory clamp is tightened it crimps the muffler to the pipe. You will have to slit the muffler inlet in order to get it off. If you have a abrasive cutoff wheel grind a cut into the inlet tube. You might have to make two cuts, one on top the other on the bottom. It will come right off.

Later,
It took two of us (StrukinAZ) about 30 minutes worth of banging on it with a 3 or so foot sledge hammer. It worked, but i ended up throwing out the nicely dented muffler.

When I took mine off the clamps came right off, but the pipes would not slide out of each other. I just about gave up, but I had the truck jacked up only in the front. I decided to put the truck back down and try it. it came right out with 2 kicks to the muffler. Saved the muffler and everything. So try it with the truck not jacked up. Don't know if it'll work for you but it did for me.

Thanks for the suggestions!
Took me almost an hour with a touch and some kicking and wiggling to get the stock exhaust off. Try using a jack on the rear end of the muffler till it is as high as it will go and then heat up the two joints till they are red hot. This should expand the two pipes enough so they will wiggle off leaving the stock exhaust in one peice. If i would have done that to begin with it would only have taken me about 20 min.

I also used a dremel to cut some slots in the pipe. The banging/kicking method didn't work for me either.
