I let the fan run for 1.5 hours in my driveway the other day and the truck started fine so i beleive the problem was me not charging the battery prior to install..at least that is what i am hoping.

HI!... If you go to the strip alot and like to run your electric fans in the pitts while your truck is not running, the OPTIMA yellow top battery is the best. I used to run my fans in the pitts with the stock battery and always ended up draining it. After killing it about 5 times it was totally DEAD. It would'nt even hold a charge or take one for that matter. I went down to a AUTOMOTIVE electrical garage that a friend of mine owns and told him my situation. He told me that the yellow top was the best battery foe my case. If I remember correctly the yellow top deep cycle battery can be totally dis-charged up to like 325 times and will still charge up to it's FULL potensial. I've never killed it yet and I've even had two 16 inch (18.5 AMPS EACH) fans and a 10 inch 10 AMP tranny cooler fan running all at the same time for up to 30 minutes in the pitts and my truck still fird up like nothing. Here's a pic of mine installed under my truck with a "NPP" (NEWMAN PERFORMACE PRODUCTS) battery relocation kit.

Yo Neal, I have to agree with you, the yellow top is the way to go. I have a JDM electric fan and a JLP Power cooler with a switch to run the IC pump between rounds and the Optima yellow deep cycle has never let me down, I love it, John H.
This is what i use for my Optima's hope the link works?

Thanks
If your not into polishing, I'd get the colored ones. They are sweet. When I add them to boaters (and car guy's too) boats when adding Stereo/MobileVideo systems they love them. They have custom paint graphix in the engine compartment with ugly battery holders................
