pro pipe or OE 90mm maf?

i was wondering what a better choice would be, the babolt-on power pipe or a stock 01-02 90mm MAF. i love how the pro pipe looks, but im not sure which one is better for performance and the price differences?

thanx...chris

I d/k of any Power Pipes installed except BABolt's own...........on his truck.

INMHO, you should not compare prices between an OEM, mass-produced plastic part and a hand-made work of art that will(should) offer some(?) increase in responsiveness and power.

The Pro-Pipe will out flow the stock 90mm hands down. It is a completely smooth air passage with no transition changes. Look closely at the stock setup. The stock 90mm has a very large obstruction in the center, then you have the joint where it connects to the rubber boot. The boot is ribbed on the inside. No doubt that the BABolt setup will be an improvement.

Pro pipe will only allow more air IF the mass air will allow it to! The 80 mm cannot out flow a 90 mm...regardless of whatever pipe is behind it.No bash, just fact.

Keep in mind that the Pro-Pipe has the MAF incorporated in to it. Take a look inside the factory MAF's. There is a lot of hardware interfearing with the flow of air. Very true that an 80mm unobtructed tube cannot out flow a 90mm unobstructed tube. The obstruction and air path make the difference.

How about this setup?

I think they are out of stock for awhile.. At 188 I can see why.

I would never put that on my truck. That thing looks like it was frankenstiened together and the welds are just horriable. I like Babolts pipe the best but i also like the one Paul(TZrider) just made for his orange work of art.

It aint a piece of art, but unless your motor is chromed
its not a pretty site anyway.
Its a great kit and is performing up to expectations!!!
An air filter kit for 700.00 bucks is just too much, i dont care what kind of performance you get, its still one piece of shiney metal
in a dark dirty envirement.

It looks like you would still be able to use the Airaid. You would not need a reburn for your existing maf. I'm not sure if your were to use the 92 mm one though...
