Question about wanabe L's

Ok, this might be a wierd one but I thought it was pretty interesting. I was driving with my dad this afternoon and we stop at a light. Then a greenish f-150 pulls up beside us, I admit it was pretty nice looking, it had a L front end and lowered and even had exhaust out the side. Anyway, the guy driving looks back like we are the ones with the fake L. Then he speeds off. Is this jealousy? I duno why I posted this but any other guys get this from any people that have have a fake L?

Mike

It isn't a fake L unless he puts L emblems on it. Then it becomes a fake L. He'd also have to get rid of the stock wheels.

Right now he just has a fixed up truck.

I agree. He could also put aftermarket 'Lightning-Style' wheels on his truck and be OK. But as soon as he crosses the line and puts SVT or LIGHTNING anywhere on it. . .then he is a poser.

I don't see anything wrong with people wanting the Lightning look. Hell- they're hot looking trucks. Ford got it right. Even if it is a perfect clone of a Lightning- he's still missing the Authenticity #.

a kid in vegas has a flareside reg cab f150 that he has done everything to make it look like an L. then he had the odasity to tell me that his truck would get more looks than mine anyday and that if he wanted performance than he would just drop a 454 in it and blow the doors off my truck.

i want to know who his mechanic is that can bolt a chebbie motor to a ford tranny

There is a beatiful newer extended cab here, copper dropped nice on billet wheels. The truck is beautiful but it has L emblems on it? I tried to explain to my wife that if you know what an L is you will know its not and if you don't know what an L is why have the emblems. Whats the point of the L emlems? The people who know what an L is will know its a fake and those who don't wwon't be more impressed by it having L badging.
I wan't to ask the guy but don't want to offend him since it is a very nice looking truck.

not really posers

I know a guy who has a regular f150 that is almost a perfect "clone"of a lightning the only diff is the interior and engine the interior is tan and the engine......4.6 other than that you couldnt tell the diff... very nice truck and he is saving the $$$ for the L engine.. It dont bother me in the least just as long as they know who the real KING is..

Angry

Get this, I was at a Trap Shooting event last weekend and I see a F-150 extra cab flair side 4x4 lariet in purple with the tan bottom, it was a nice truck but it had a windshild banner that said "Lightning" but had lightning bolts instead if the I's. I expected to see lightning badges on the side but they werent thare instead he had lightning grafixs with the bolts for the I's instead. That truck was nice but it wasent even close to a Lightning. The thing that really p-me off was that he took a good lisence plate up "thunder"
