Thumbs up Great Deal On A Hard Tonneau Cover

I ordered mine today and I noticed that over on NLOC (Parts) there is a ******* X2000 (white) for sale cheap ($500). I talked to the guy and he's legit but he only has one post and no replies to his thread.

I guess it makes people leery when a person with only one post post's a classified. He lives in Georgia, north of Atlanta. He sent me pics of the tonneau and it looked great. He was willing to let me drive down to get it and take me golfing for free. Extremely nice guy, send him an email and get his phone number. I have it here but I don't have the right to post somebodys number for the whole world to see.

I've already ordered mine but somebody ought to jump this deal before it gets away.

A word to the wise.

Tim

Have you ever seen either one of them first hand and inspected them?

After I had already told him that I had ordered a Pro Sport (which by the way he ordered too and has installed on his truck) he told me that the fit and hinge system of the ******* was much better than the Pro Sport and the only reason he ordered the Pro Sport was for the spoiler.

I fancy myself a very good judge of character and this guy is not lying. I know you mean well but until you know first hand what a product is like don't be so quick to judge, and it will be for the betterment of the entire Lightning community.

This is a pic he sent, I have more.

The only drawback with the ******** is the name. I haven't heard anyone mention Stockland covers; but, they are both good quality lids. Probably as good or better than any other brand you could name. They are just kind of plain Jane looking. They look great on a fleetside truck; but, I don't really like them on the L.

Roger,

I agree with the name deal but this thing looked real nice and it's a hellofa deal. Look at the way it wraps around the front corner of the bed, nice!

Vinnie,

Don't you just love it when somebody calls what you just paid hard earned money for crap?

It's not crap Vinnie, it's a very nice cover that you ordered.

You're not the first and won't be the last to do that, don't worry about it. We all learn everyday, me included.

well I have seen it first hand and was going to buy one, I thought it was nice and seen no hint of any rubbing on the truck it was on. don't be so quick to judge, he said she said causes alot of problems. esp when someone has spent there HARD earned money on.

Cool Thanks Chickenears...

Chickenears, thanks so much for the kind words, it was a pleasure dealing with ya. Being new to posting on the forums (frankly not used to it) I truly think I do not have the experience or expertise to be of assistance to what has already been posted before, but have learned and put to use many of the tips, thanks to all for your input and help.

I do love to read most all of your posts (been doing it since my leased 2000 L, and purchased 2001 L in September), some ware someone is always making my day with a lol or lmao and informative posts that make you think. I haven’t been that active in posting but would like to complement what I see as great sources of information to all who enjoy these trucks as much as I.

I guess my first post on NLOC being a classified was a bad, give me a little time it will get better.

Thanks again Tim, and good luck with the new cover, send me some pics when your finished …. Tom (QB)

*******'s X-2000

I have had a *******'s X-2000 on my Lightning for about a month and I am overall very pleased. The first lid I got had some paint flaws so I rejected it and got another/repainted one. Build quality is very good and the hinge system is by far the best out there. I wanted a "plain" lid so it was either this or the SnugLid. The one thing that I dont like is it hangs over the bed rails kind of like the bill of a hat whereas the Snuglid comes down flush. The salesman said this offers better waterproof protection. $500 is a killer deal by the way. T.P.
