I couldn't get a ratchet in their either... I didn't even remove any nuts on the converter.. I just shoved a small peice of duct tape over the exposed threads on one bolt )to protect the threading) and bent the strap so when bolted down with the ckeck cover bolts it firmly slipped over the exposed threads snug up against the nut... worked like a charm... easy to setup and easy to remove...
