Question Anyone Running LongTubes Without Chip ?

I was just wondering if anyone was running the Longtube Headers and High Flow Cats without a chip if that is possible. Only mods on my truck now are the upper pulley, Airriad with big mouth filter, Factory_Tech Valve Body, and Bassani Cat Back. The rest of my mods i stripped off a few months ago when i had to go to the dealer and after almost getting my warrenty vodied i havent really went mod crazy again yet hehe. I was waiting for my 20's before i put my chip back in since i know i would need it reburned for them. But Since it took me 13 weeks to get my rims and i need the cash i sold my chip and some other mods. So i was wondering if anyone is or thinks i would be fine running the longtubes with my current mods and no chip. I dont want to throw a lean code or anything. Eventually i will be putting a chip back in but i really love the way the Bassani sounds with the longtubes ,truck sounds like a wild animal. So anyone running them without a chip and with my mods do you think i will be fine running them. Any info would be great.
Thanks

I thought you had to have a chip in order to run an upper or lower pulley I have a bassani exhaust (shorty headers) without a chip and don't see why you would need one for the longtubes either.

Hmmm, I don't know if it makes that much of a difference but I am running JBA headers and Flowmaster exhaust and I have no chip and no problems....

Not sure if long tubes as opposed to the shorties would make that big of a difference, I would think you would be ok

I had the full Long Tube/ High Flow/ Bassani setup with no other mods on for awhile and had no problems. You should be fine...

You can run up to a 2# pulley with no chip anything over that i would use a chip. I only have the upper pulley on and thats not even a full 2# more like 1.5#. At the time i had all my mods on i had what i already said with a 2# lower pulley, 90mm MAF, PSP FASTAir, PSP flip chip, and BaBolt TB. I will eventually be putting the rest of my mods back on but if i could i would like to get the Longtubes first.

Im not sure if the shorties are different from the long tubes.
Thanks though.

What does anyone else think will i be fine?
Thanks

Vin,

You'll have no problem at all running long tubes without a chip - You'll just see better gains once you put one back in.
