Just got my new taillights and got the tailgate handle painted to match the truck. I think it cleans it up alot. What do you guys think?

Foo, loose the Cowabunga dude, it takes away from your posts. Makes them hard to read, distracting IMO.

How's the color match on the handle? How's the overall paint quality?

Thanks.
Edward

I had my local paint shop match it, they charged me $30 and the quality is excellent and looks factory...I don't know why it wasnt painted from the factory, they painted the door handles

They have done alot of work for me in the past on other cars and painted my mirrors on the L.

Maybe the answers to my questions are obvious, but im late, and too tired to think, so I will ask them anyway.

Was the handle and mirror sanded smooth before being painted? If they were, did you do the prep work? And with what?

If not, is there any concern about the paint coming off because of the texture...thanks

NJLightning01: The mirrors were pretty smooth but needed to be prepped before painting. The handle I was told needed alot more sanding and such to get the rough texture smooth, and had to be sprayed with some type of plastic primer...
I had a shop do it all so I'm not really sure what was involved in all the steps, sorry....He said I should have no problem with any paint coming off, and if so he would repaint it.

CrazyFoo: Nice, my dad wanted to buy my L when I was thinking of getting a 02' blue. Your gonna have the best of both worlds

Thanx for the info, I have been trying to "clean" up the whole appearance of the truck, and thats a small step, my friends dad owns a body shop, so he should be able to take care of that and my replacement mirrors in a part of one day
