Question Where to tap for mechanical temp gauge??

I just got a mechanical temp gauge, but not sure the best place to hook it up. The probe is quite long, so I am not sure if it will fit in place of a drain plug by the oil filter or in the manifold.

Any suggestions?

Cool

HI!... The best place to "T" the mechanical guage probe is in the OUTGOING heater hose from the rear of the engine block. Here's a pic of my set-up.

That looks good. I was thinking of the same thing. Did you get all the parts at the local hardward store?
