Their isn't one you must buy the WHOLE blower!!! I'm sure JDM or PSP has some used ones that you might get cheaper than a new unit from Ford!!!
Whats the deal??? Why you need the snout???

Yep, exactly what James said Greg. Ford sells it as a whole. You can buy a snout from Magnuson though. I've gotten a few from there for people who damaged thiers putting on upper pulleys.

Sal, i had magnuson rebuild my blower for running a 6# lower,2.5# martin upper and a small shot n the future.I should have known by the total cost[666 dollars] that the blower would go to hell lol.

The first attempt had a bad seal and made a he** of a racket and leaked all over my newly rebuilt motor and polished m112.
I took the snout off and sent it back to have it rebuilt.
They said they screwed up and sent me my snout back overnight and from the moment i put it back on it has been really noisey but with no leaking seal this time.

The original snout with 30k hard driven miles barely made any noise.

I could of swore someone posted that they payed like 144.00 for a new blower snout through ford on one of these boards.

I guess i will have to take the snout off again...and send it back to magnuson.

Maybe the third time will be the charm.
To make things crystal clear, magnuson installed the hub for the billet pulley both times.

Did they have to machine your snout to fit such a small pulley...I have a sean hyland upper ( not sure what kind of boost its supppose to make ) and had to put the snout in a 4 jaw chuck lathe and machine material off the front to keep the pulley from rubbing the snout!!!

I beleive they just pressed on the billet hub...both times.
This is an interchangeble pulley...stock or 2.5# so the pulley itself never comes in contact with the blower shaft.
They said pressing the hub on wrong was the reason the first rebuild was not right and that they have no way of testing m112 snouts...just m 90.
Anyway, there real nice people at magnuson but after waiting 4 months for my engine,i am not looking forward to any more downtime.
Taking the snout off is easy but messy.
I would have just left the blower alone until i could get an aftermarket blower, but after waiting an extra 6 weeks for cams that still aren't out,i have no faith in manufactuers lead times.

I installed a metco hub on the original blower twice and it never made any noise.

Slight grinding noise w/2# lower

Is it normal to get a bit more noise when installing a 2# lower pulley? At idle (in gear)we get a slight grinding sound, but just off idle the noise goes away for the most part. Does the 'CAGE ASSY' (oem) absorb the noise we are now noticing. I'm tempted to re-install the original lower assy, just to satisfy my curiosity. Onr thing for sure, is this noise was immediate when installing the 2#der.

Thank You!

J.
