Thumbs up The problem with JDM tuning your truck is ...

... it's a bit on the safe side so you won't blow your engine.
I'd rather run a tad richer and give up 10 HP on my daily
driver than take a chance on the engine.

Just got back from the Dyno .... and the results are in ...

To compare to a DYNOJET (BIG DRUM v.s. ELECTRICAL
RESISTANCE) add 15 percent to the numbers ...

And the other pull (We did about 20 !!! Both Chip sides ...
Blew the customers and the mechanics outta the garage ...
The guy next door even came running! Love those Silver Bullets!
They all loved the truck and it was the first one they had seen
on the dyno..... Man that sucker SCREAMS ...

"WARNING ... EXCEEEDED maximum speed (125)" HEH HEH HEH

All comments welcomed ... Obviously my 13 flat is a result
of my **** poor driving and NOT the tune ...

Corrected?

Are those numbers corrected? They seem really low to me.

As a comparison, I dyno'd (on a mustang dyno) at 345hp with just an electric fan.

Cliff, why is the A/F all whacky? It should be a straight line, or at least a smooth one. You can catch me on IRC if you want to go over your dyno session.

SVT-KY,I'm in just about the same boat you're in.Similar mods except the elec. fan/water pump.
Dyno'd @ 398.5/495.6.
With 1600 mi. ran 8-9 consistant 13.0's
best of 13.003 @ 106 mph.
Temps were about 90*
Track sucked street car nite.best 60' of 1.90 on ET streets.
I'm going to send my chip in for a re-burn ,along with my dyno sheets. My a/f was at 11.9.I feel I could go a little leaner and make the 400/500 club!
I know i can get into the 12's with more miles/cooler temps/better track conditions. But that will have to wait a few months. It's 109* here today!!
Later-Dave.

So if we add 15% to your 357hp, that would be about what you would have pulled on a dyno jet? Which would be around 410hp?

And the A/F does look jumpy

That's my understanding Captain ....

The A/F thing is a bit of a mystery ...

We first tested it and it was like 9.8 10 at the
tailpipe ... then switched sensors (longer probe)
and switched pipes ... yielding those figures you see.

Rumor has it that the '02 computer auto compensates
for the A/F as teh RPM goes up ?

I dunno .... going racing Friday to see what I can find out ...

BADBOLT2 .... Glad I'm not alone ..... <grin>

My guess is the sensor is off.... awful sharp spikes almost like an electrical spike rather than a A/F spike

Very well could be Doug. I hardly EVER trust dyno A/F readings unless they have been backed up with a stand alone unit. Too many things wipe those sensors out. I've had customers contact me after dynoing thier trucks thinking they were too rich or too lean, and then they re-dyno elsewhere per my suggestion only to get completely different readings!

Doug, wish I had kept the first A/F plot ... it was
a straight line at about 10 ...

So if my "southern math" is right I gained 34 HP from the mods ...
Wish I woulda DYNO'ed it before I began the changes ... Oh well
I guess I need to TRUST FORD'S numbers !!!

If you average the spikes out from about 80 mp to about 113 it is like 10.8-11.2 ( tough to know with out the real data to put in excel... That is a little rich but with 2 different probes revealing such differnet readings like Sal I wouldnt trust either...

Close enough. Windows calulator:

359.6 +15% = 413.54
357.7 +15% = 411.355

Either way impressive numbers for such a rich tune. Nice job!

Thumbs up

SVT_KY,
I am glad you are happy with your tune, and those are some pretty good numbers that you pulled on the dyno.
Let us know the result when you get a chance to take it to the track.
Bill
