Unhappy Is my 01 "L" getting slower?

Okay guys maybe I am just getting used to this thing, but it almost feels like it is getting slower. The only mods I have are a K&N panel filter and the Spintech cat-back. It still runs great and according to the stock boost guage the blower is still pushin 8 p.s.i. (shows 10 on the gauge) Unless my memory is getting real bad, I thought my truck could light the tires alot better than it did this morning! Now I dont go around trying to ruin an expense pair of goodyears, I just felt like playing a little. I dont take it to the track so I cant compare ET's. Is a dyno day in order? Please give me your opinions on the subject.
Thanks
Ryan

I feel the same way about my truck..I have a 99 with air raid panel filter and JDM programmed superchip. Before it seemed like my take off was like a jet taking off on a runway..Now from my memory of how amazed I was with my truck when i first got it, thats gone away..So I think a big percentage has to do with you getting use to your truck..Another thing i've come to notice is that here in Georgia its been really hot and these things suck in extreme heat conditions. When the Heat rolled in earlier this year, I did a lot of complaining about my truck losing power. Well for a few weeks we had some really cool temps and cool breezy days and i noticed a change in how crisp and torquey my truck was running..Then nostalgia came back to me and to prove it, I had to smoke a couple of power cars out there.. I'm sure nothings wrong with you truck, I think you're getting use to it.

Oh another thing...Make sure to keep your minor tune-ups done..Oil changed on time, monitor spark plugs, intake and injector flush and most of all the fue filter..Fuel fiter is a major power loss.. Take care!

Cool The heat is on!

Being new to forced induction power I was unaware of how much these trucks would be affected by high heat and humidity. You guys are right, its probably just me getting used to the truck and the temperature affecting its performance as well. Anyone know around what numbers the dyno runs should come in at on an otherwise stock 01 "L"?

It's the heat. Mine is a SLUG in the hot, humid, Houston weather. 50 degrees and 100 degrees is a NIGHT and DAY difference. Like someone on another site said in their signature "Mods: Winter coming soon." LOL!

It's the heat and humidity around here. Mine is doing the same thing, (when I get to drive it). It is amazing the difference in the truck with these little cool fronts that have been coming thru this year. There is supposed to be one tomorrow. I bet Friday night, you will feel the difference when the temp/humidity drop a little.

A stock 01 should be in the 335/345 rwhp range.

A 01 with chip/filter/pulley should be 390/400 rwhp

From a dead punch, my L will smoke 'em into 3rd gear in the cold temps. But now, in the heat, it'll only do it into 2nd. Summer + Boost = SUX!
