What sounds do a bad plug make???

Guys & Gals,

I ALWAYS do one item at a time, so if something happens, I can trace it back. I made the mistake of installing my Long Tube headers and my NGKs at the same time. I now have a sound similar to an exhaust leak. Kinda like a bad Chevy manifold leak. Could it be the plugs? Or is it the Long Tubes and I'm just worried over nothing. I got the SES light also, after two laps around my block.

Please help...make suggestions!

My money would be on a gasket leak.

How did you tighten the plugs? Sal recommends "finger-tight/snug, then 1/16th of a turn more". You shouldn't 'hear' any exhaust noise from the plugs if they're tightened properly.

I agree with Dr. D in that it's probably a gasket(or joint) leak as there is a lot more room for error there.
