Since they are adjustable you can tune them to each. I can say that on my truck they have improved everyday use and launching the truck, Spike will tell you about road course handling and Dan (thepawn) will tell you how much he enjoyed them on auto-x, and as time passes I will be going into auto-x (I don't have much experience as of now) and eventually road course's.

bob1999 - attacking Spike and Ruslow and other road racers? You must be having some brainfarts b/c they are some of the most helpful people on here.

Hmmm lets see, so far with the guidence of Spike and Ruslow and Silver-Bolt and many other drivers on here I have:

gotten into more racing then just 1/4 racing
learned alot about vehicle suspensions
learned how to do better research and ask proper questions when I need help with something
learned more driving skills, which helps become a better driver

What I can I learn from you:
how to insert my foot into my mouth, which unfortunately I already do a really good job at that myself

The best part about this thread is that the tuners and some of the other guys are probably breathing a sigh of relief. FINALLY, inflammatory comments that don't involve them!

snoppy, does any station still carry that show in the US? I used to love watching it on Mtv a long time ago and was just thinking about it earlier today. I still remember the one episode where Neil was taking a bath. Oh was that sick! The water in a sewage treatment plant looked cleaner.

Bob

PS. To be on topic, I ordered me a billet grill today. Whoo hooo!!!

For those running the QA1's, will they work on a lowered vehicle?

Bob - BBC America shows them sometimes. They are also available on video. My Scottish roommate got me hooked on them in the mid-80s on MTV. LMAO!

On topic - I noticed a lot of people recommending QA1s are also doing a lot more track time. Are those more strip-oriented? Which reasonable priced (preferably adjustable) shock would give a better daily ride than the Bilsteins?

No, it doesn't count.

Chainsaw13/snoopy:
I gave the floor to bob1999. Maybe he should answer your questions, instead of me.

Spike

BTW, if for some reason, he doesn't supply an specific answer to your question(s), feel free to contact me via email.

I just installed the Bilsteins on my 99 about 3 weeks ago. The handling it much improved, yet the ride isn't much different. The install was relatively easy, I did it in my garage with hand tools.

It was about $165 for all 4 shocks and the 2 new rear upper nuts that are needed. I got them from fordpartsonline.com (ask for Gary).
