Most important guages.

I searched and came up with some answers but still have questions.
I want to get guages to monitor the new engine and make sure everything runs good. So far I know I want the modified A/F autometer ultralite guage in the steering column pod. Then for the a-pillar i want the defi guages. I know for sure i want boost, but i dont know what else to get. I was thinking fuel pressure and water temp but I dont really know. maybe egt, but im goin to have the a/f guage so i dont really need that. tranny temp??? so many options but i dont know whats really critical. any input is welcomed.

thanks

I/C coolant doesn't get that hot.It was 109* here yesterday and I checked mine after driving in traffic,it was 115*.
From what JDM told me A/F gauges are worthless until you get to about the $600-700 range for a "real time" unit.I went with an EGT[Pyrometer} to keep an eye on my A/F mixture.
Water temp and Trans temp.
I may get a single column pod for a Boost gauge, but really don't feel I need it.Wheather it makes 12 lbs like the factory gauge states or 10 lbs [more realisticly] I don't really care. All my gauges are for diagnostic purposes.Hope this helps.
P.S. I went with the Phantoms[tired of waiting on the Lunar series!]very close match.I'll post some pics if you want.
Later,-Dave.

I went phantom as well, went boost,Volts (Aftermarket fan, etc), and havent decided on my next...maybe Oil Pressure, or Water Temp.

I went with:

Boost
Fuel
and A/F

I think the most important gauge in a forced fed application is Fuel pressure.

anyone else?
im ordering the guages tomorrow, ive decide not to get the column pod yet...
im thinking EGT, Fuel pressure, and boost....
EGT is like an alternative to a/f ratio right?
do these sound like good choices?
any input welcomed
thanks
