Question OK.just test drove an '01 L

Silver. No bed cover. Tires are about 80% tread. It's got 7900 miles on it. It is very very clean. It's a 1 owner vehicle. I drove it for about 5 miles on both windy and straight aways roads. It shifts swiftly, brakes are good, doesn't pull. CD changer.

I have an invoice here from JDM with the following items:

Flip Chip
Filter Kit (cone filter)
Fan Kit (for sitting in the lanes at the track?)
Water pump
Line mod valve
Cat back exhaust (not sure which make)
Throttle body
Breather cap
Bypass kit
Lower pulley
misc. wiring
antifreeze
ATF

$2985 - Will any of these void a warranty?

They are asking 28k. For those of you who aren't in NJ..consider the price (and any price) to be a bit higher than where you're located.

What do you all think? Sorry I've been flipping between 00s, used, buying new...now this one. I'm just trying to research every option. Thanks for your patience.

Dan

Unhappy Warranty

I don't think the misc. wiring will void your warranty.

Most of those mod will void warantee... A lot of it depends on the dealership also...

My dealership said he would black list me if I even installed a K&N filter on the truck cuz the oil they use on them ruins the teflon coating on the pistons... first time I ever heard that one... suprised K&N is in business if that's the case... I hate blatenly dumb service personel..

With out a doubt the following will cause havoc if discovered:

Chip
Line Mod Valve
Boost Bypass
Lower Pulley

Thumbs up

Silver 01s are great! If the c/b is JDM's too then it should be a Magnaflow--love mine!

I realized that I listed that after the fact.

I called a couple of dealerships today to get an explanation of it. I'm not eligible, so that does me no good.

Thanks..

1.The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C))

This federal law regulates warranties for the protection of consumers. The essence of this law concerning aftermarket auto parts is that a vehicle manufacturer may not condition a written or implied warranty on the consumers using parts or services which are identified by brand, trade, or corporate name (such as the vehicle makers brand) unless the parts or service are provided free of charge. The law means that the use of an aftermarket part alone is not cause for denying the warranty
www.sema.org

That is the Law but dealers can get around it, if your dealer has a problem with mods on your truck take it to a dealer that doesn't

The Local Ford dealer in my area has only voided 2 warranties in the last year.

Thanks, Scott. I'm gonna give Justin @ JDM a call tomorrow to get some background on it.
