Lower Pulley help

I'm about to change mine in a couple of days and I'm just wondering how long it will take, what is needed, and how is it held on. My new pulley has 3 bolts I believe. Thanks in advance for any help.

Just did mine a week and a half ago... Took me 45 minutes from start to test drive. BE SURE you have the right plugs in... sometimes tuners may forget to mention that stock plugs won't work with more boost... detonation time!

You will need a 1/2" breaker bar ( longer the better!) for the tensioner, and more importantly, the stock pulley. since you said your new pulley has three bolts, I'm assuming you have the JDM interchangable... (that's what I have... a 4#'er) MAKE SURE YOU ORDER THE optional tools... you'll need em!

Torque the tensioner, pull the belt off. Undo the top most nut on the stock cage from the top, jack the front of the truck up, slide under there, pull the nut holding the hose guide off and the hose guide itself (drivers side nut) pull the other nut off... all 15MM on my 02 I believe... pull the inspection plate off the torque converter... I installed the optional strap over the bolt on the torque converter with out taking off a nut. Bolt the other side of the strap down with the inspection plate bolts.

Slide back towards the front... put that optional hex driver you hopefully ordered on your 1/2" breaker bar.... insert it into the center of the stock pulley... push that breaker bar like HE!! towards the passenger side (the pulley is reverse threaded!) being careful not to destroy your knuckles... that SOB is on TIGHT! once it breaks loose, unthread it by hand, pull it out through the bottom. Stick the new on up there... thread it, tighten it. replace the nuts, tighten... take the strap off the converter, put the plate back on... lower the truck... take a big flat head screw driver and a hammer and break the stop tab on the tensioner off that keeps you from winding it to tight... that thing will prevent you from putting the stock belt back on. put the belt on, and give her he!!...

holy long post batman.... sorry... got carried away.... of couse all of that comes wtih pics when you order your pulley....

I had to put a pipe over the end of my breaker bar to break loose the stock pulley. If you do this, put some padding on your fender so that if/when it finally breaks tension, you don't chip your paint.

When you put the new pulley on, put anti-sieze on the threads.

The whole lower pulley doesn't take very long, 1-2 hours, depending on tools, breaks, etc.
