Question Stock Lower Pulley

I need some help. I need a stock lower pulley. My truck is at the dealership. They damaged it taking it off and are telling me that they have some new design that is being made and blah blah blah. If anybody has lower pulley that they either wanna sell or maybe even give away let me know please. I just want my truck back. I have been reading some not so good stories too about people having trouble after a new head is put on>??? Any input on that would be great too. Thanks, -Mat-

I know they need to replace it but they say they can't get one. I want to walk in there with one and slap it on the service writers desk and say"Here ya go now I want my truck." For all I know it is fixed and they are cruising around in it. -Mat-

I think they are giving you a bunch of bull. If they trashed it then they have too make good on it. Allot of they's LOL You could always just buy one from them(I mean Ford). Thing is that they cost around 400 bucks for the pulley and the cage... One more thing why was Ford taking the stock pulley off? Good luck

SVT, I have my stock pulley and cage laying around. Shoot me an email at blkbanshee@yahoo.com.

I do agree, though, they should be replacing it - But I totally understand just wanting to get the truck back.

They would need to remove the stock pulley and cage in order to get to the belt behind it.

Your right Harry. I'm glad I change my own belts so something like this would not happen...

They have no problem with replacing it themselves no charge to me. But they say they can't get one. They say there is a new "modified" design that they are waiting to get. If this is true who knows when they will get it. They are supposed to be calling me 2morrow. I will see then. Thanks again. -Mat- Oh yeah they only damaged the center section that threads into the crank then the pulley threads onto that.

Mat:

If I were a betting man, I'd have to guess "Bubba" snapped off the bolts backing them out the wrong way. They come out clock-wise, not counter clock-wise like everything else.

I would have asked, "what broke"? Kinda hard to break a boat anchor like that pulley setup. But, that's just me.

They owe you a rental car if they screwed up like that. May take them a few days to drill and tap them if that's what happened.

Thumbs up All should be good.

I talked to the service guy today. He said they got the part and all is well. The truck has been roadtested and is all set. So I guess I can be the judge of that when I pick it up. Thanks for all the help guys. -Mat-

Just for your future knowledge. If your truck is in need of a part under warranty it can be emergency ordered before 3pm cutoff and should arrive the next day via Fed Ex to the dealership (Ford pays for the freight). At the time of order or actually any time for that matter the parts department can go online to FoMoCo's DoesII system and search the parts inventory in Ford's Parts Supply warehouses for the part in need. Don't take the service writer's excuses as the gospel, somebody at the dealership can find out what is going on and when your part will arrive.

That being said, hope your truck is fixed and you enjoy many miles of trouble free Camaro stomping.
