Unhappy Friend of mine is going to the dark side...

He's trading his mineral grey '02 GT for an '02 Z28. he's about a half bubble off plumb anyways, but this is taking it to an extreme...

He was on the phone during the test drive, telling me all about how it breaks em free matting the pedal at a 30mph roll... talking about how it would walk his GT badly...

Of course I had to point out that he would still need a nitrous kit to outrun my big old Ford truck... I mean, thats what friends are for, ya know?

I would ditch an 02 GT for an 02 Z28. The Z would smoke the mustang all day. Some easy simple bolt on's get those LS1 cars into the high 12's very easly.

Both cars can be made to be pretty fast with bolt ons.

But one of them will always be ugly...

Thumbs up

Lets just say you are making the right choice. That thing is fast but I never have and probably never will like their design. The stangs look more powerfull to me even though they aren't allways. My buddy had a red- LT1 z28 that was fun as hell. It was awsome to drive without the T-tops on when your haulen ***. He got rid of it though for a 98 corvette ...not bad either

You know..I like the looks of both cars. To me it really depends on the angle that I'm looking at them from. The angle that the pic I posted makes the wheels look too small and makes the car look too high. I think one of the most aggresive angles is from the driver-side rear. Shows the meat of the tires and the lines of the car. The Mustangs look a little better from the side, but as well, look better from the side-rear. Just my $.02. Now if we want to go back a few years...my '72 Mach looked good from ALL angles. I think, anyway.

See ya'

A little nitros and a Z28 will top a lightning? HAH!! Stock to stock, a $24000 Z28 will walk a $32000 Lightning. If you upgrade the L, and spend just as much money to upgrade the Z, the Z will still walk the Lightning.
If you want to bring "mods" into the picture... just about anything could beat anything else. A heavily modded Daewoo could beat a Lightning if you use that logic.

The Z28's are definately fast, and IMO don't look bad either. But I must concur with alot of other opinions and reviews, those chevy's interior are lacking big time!

I toatally agree with you about the '72 mach...those things are just plain BADD-***. I will one day own a 71 or 72 acapulco blue mach 1 with black interior and a shaker hood. I really want that r-code one I saw a few weeks ago. Maybe when I have a nice garage to keep it and my truck in I will ****** one up. gotta love those babys..any pics of yours?

Mine was an 'R' code. 2F05R190222. 1 of 398 Mustangs made with that engine. I bought it in '93 and sold it in '00. A previous owner did some nice work to the engine. I went 12.90 @ 105 on bald Eagle STs. It was a blast. Sold it and my '96 Impala SS when I bought the Camaro. It was decked out in Boss 351 trim to a T..(why? don't know. Made MANY inquiries about it and noone could give me a definitive answer). It was medium bright yellow with ginger interior. 4-spd top loader with 3.91:1 traction lok. Staggered rear shocks. Ram-air hood (mechanically functional). All the goodies.

I have a very good pic of it sitting here on my desktop. It's a great shot of me launching at Englishtown. Unfortunately, I have no way of hosting it. If you can find one..I would higly recommend it. Although, a '71 BOSS wouldn't be too shabby either.

Funny you mention the garage..I just had a 2-car full attic 23 x 23 garage built. And I have nothing special to put in it!!! That'll change soon. Veeeery soon.

See ya'
