Lightbulb Towing capacity

Lightning towing capacity.....any insights or opinons(trying to prove a point to a retarded friend i have)

Gen 2 is 5000lbs


Its limited by the tires on the trucks.

Its limited by the tires on the trucks.
I thought it was a combination of the fact that it was lowered, had different springs and shocks, and lower profile tires. We still have an 800lb payload capacity, so if the tongue weight is anywhere near this I'd expect you'd be well beyond a 5000lb trailer. 5000lb is still pretty good, though.

Does anybody know if this trailer weight could be increased if we used a class-4 receiver with a load equalization hitch?

Don't know what affects what but, here are some comparison numbers:

1999 F150, Regular cab, short bed, 5.4L, 3.55LS

Towing - 8300 lbs
Payload - 1875 lbs
