Well First Time Ever at the Track.....

I finally took the ole' L out for a run the other night. I caught up with a few friends from the Corral.net and went out to the track in MS. Well first off they wouldn't allow you to drive around the water box, which I don't guess was good for me on street tires. I tried just turning 'em over for a second to clean and dry the tires off. I ended up only cutting a 2.29 60' (pretty embarassed about that)with the truck getting REALLY loose on the 1-2 shift... ran a 13.5 at 104.6. That was full weight and a little over a 1/4 tank of gas. Any guess on was she will run if I can get that 60' down?

well that was my first experience at the 1/4

All in all I had a f'n blast! I am not dissapointed at all in the truck, just a little bit in the driver

P.S it was VERY humid and about 80 degrees

What was the temperature, humidity, track conditions like??

Since we have identical mods, by the identical tuner , I figured I can have an idea as what to expect.

later,
JC

80 degrees, humid enough that I could write my name on the truck. The track was VERY slick as I posted earlier. I will be going back in 2 weeks, I have to go home this coming weekend (HELL YEAH)!!!

Driving through the water box killed your 60 ft times.

Hoosier drag slicks gave me a 2.1 second better ET in the 1/8 mile. Get hooked up and you'll do much better.

That's a really good time considering the 60' and the weather conditions. If you hook up and get a 2.0 60' I see a 13.2 in your future.....

At that same MPH, I drove a 13.2xx with a 2.1 60'. If you managed a 1.9 or 1.8 60' (certainly do-able with low tire PSI or stickier tires) you could conceivably knock down a 13.0. (I didn't hit 13.0 until I was MPHing at around 107...)
